With increasing number of doctors succumbing to coronavirus, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has sounded a red alert and has appealed to the government to provide better Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs) to all those dealing with COVID-19 patients, including doctors, nurses and other health workers.

    Nearly 100 doctors across the country have died battling against COVID-19 in the last three months and defective PPEs are seen as a contributory factor towards their death. As per an IMA survey, 99 doctors have died and nearly 1302 doctors have tested positive for corona virus.

   The break-up of doctors died is: less than 35 years of age — 07, 35 years to 50 years —19, more than 50 years — 73, Total 99.
