The Tale of India-Six Decades after Independence

   No country illustrates diversity better than India. India, the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country with over 1.2 billion people is the largest democracy in the world with a very rich historic background and with a civilization that is more than 5000 years old. Different groups of people located at different places of the world with different ethnicity migrated to India over the years and added to its rich heritage and culture. These helped the people to realize the values of humanism, respect, tolerance, cooperation and most importantly acceptance of ‘live and let live’.

   India celebrates its Independence Day or The Swatantrata Divas on the 15th August every year to commemorate its independence from the British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation on that day in 1947.
