‘Long COVID’ Has No Short Answer

     Following infection with SARSCoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, a long-lasting disorder called long COVID is causing concern.

    The World Health Organization revised its guidelines for COVID-19 treatment to include a recommendation that all patients should have access to follow-up care in case of long COVID.

   Researchers have found that the following diagnoses often occur together:

ƒ Type 1: Heart, kidney, and circulatory problems

ƒ Type 2: Lung conditions, sleep disorders, and anxiety

ƒ Type 3: Muscle pain, connective tissue disorders, and nervous system disorders

ƒ Type 4: Digestive and respiratory problems

    There is no widely agreed definition of long COVID, but it is observed that COVID-19 symptoms last more than four weeks.

    A further possibility is that long COVID is caused by the immune system going haywire and....
