Kumbhalgarh Fort

   Kumbhalgarh is located in Mewar now called Udaipur district. To the north of Mewar lies Ajmer, Mervada, Shahpura; to the west Jodhpur and Sirohi; to the southwest Idar; to the south Dunagarpur, Banswada, Pratapgad, and to the east Neemach, Tonk, Bundi and Kota.

   Mewar is equally divided into four regions, the west, eat and south have their hills and mountains while the mid section has its valleys. To the south lies the Gogunda peak and the Bhomat region. Aravallis or Adawad is the oldest hilly region in India.

   The largest peak in this range is the Jarga at 4315 feet above sea level. Kumbhalgarh is located on the western border of the Aravallis on top of the Jarga peak at 3568 ft above sea level and the correct geographical position is at 23.90 degrees latitude and 73.35 degrees longitude.
