Practice Makes a Man Perfect

     Recently we had the IPL, then the World Cup matches. I was watching Wimbledon and Euro Cup for Foot Ball. I listen to the great Carnatic singers of yester years. Paris Olympics will begin shortly. As I watched the performance of the players, I realised the time spent by them in perfecting every move or shot or notes.

    All these events have something in common. People trying to give their best. Win or lose, every minute they are fully dedicated and they just concentrate on the job at hand. There are techniques, nuances and skills related to each field.

    In music every note is important. In tennis every stroke is crucial. In chess every move determines the outcome of the match. In cricket every ball and every run is very precious. It may be 100 M dash or high jump pole vault or long jump or car racing or swimming– any competitive sport– in all these areas, basic skills are imparted by a coach, a guru or a....
