KUDUMBASHREE Engaging women as efficient change agents for improved socio-economic growth in Kerala

     Kudumbashree was conceived as a joint programme of the Government of Kerala and NABARD implemented through Community Development Societies (CDSs) of poor women, serving as the community wing of Local Governments. Kudumbashree is formally registered as the ‘State Poverty Eradication Mission’ – SPEM, a society registered under the Travancore-Kochi Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act 1955.

    Over the past 25 years, the organization has transformed the lives of many women from poverty-ridden families into agents of change. It has actively mobilized women in community activities, created employment opportunities, and fostered women’s leadership at various levels of governance.
