Importance of sleep for adolescence

   Sleep is essential for the healthy development of adolescents, as well as their success at school. Researchers have suggested that teenagers need between 8 to 10 hours of sleep every night, as their body clock naturally shifts to make them feel tired later in the evening, but early school starts do not enable them to sleep in the mornings.

   So, if they receive insufficient sleep, teenagers show day time sleepiness, it impacts their menta wellbeing, increases their risk of depression, likelihood of stimulate use increases, anxiety and low self esteem rises and their academic performance at school suffers.
