Aircraft Makers Bullish over Indian Aviation

   According to the European aerospace major, Airbus, India’s star in the civil aviation sector is burning bright with the country poised to become the third largest aviation market by 2034. Painting a bright picture of the Indian civil aviation sector Airbus notes that the growth of the industry is being driven by a fast expanding middle class which is taking to air travel in a big way.

   Rapidly declining air fares and growing competition fuelled by the entry of new players have made air travel affordable to the middle class in the country. "By 2034, Indian passengers, on an average, will each make four times as many flights as they do today. In the twenty years from 2015 to 2034, India will require over 1,600 new passenger and freighter aircraft to help meet the growth in demand,” points out Airbus.
