The recent landmark judgement of the Indian Supreme Court (March 2015) restored individual freedom of expression on the Internet, to the relief of all citizens, and re-defined the meaning of democracy to the whole world. The stand taken by the author, a strong votary for freedom on the Internet, has been vindicated by the highest court of the land. While applauding the role of the judiciary, the author points out that the war to secure the freedom (azadi) on the Net is far from over.

   Governments may still attempt to smuggle in some forms of control through the backdoor. The younger generation too has a role to play in ensuring that the newly redefined freedom of expression is not misused.
