Refurbishment of the Education system in India

    The education system in India is a legacy of the British rule and its effect is so ingrained that we have not been able to change it substantially, though we are into our seventy second year of Independence. There was a time, when India was ahead of every other country in the world, whether it was in Science and technology or architecture. Many theories and techniques were discovered in our great land. Whether it was the idea of zero, or the decimal system and numeral notations, India was the pioneer. The marvellous structures in the form of temples and other buildings amaze the whole world, even today. The kind of technology that was put to use in those times, can surprise anyone. But what changed after that? Why are we nowhere in the world today, when it comes to education and knowledge gathering? We are somehow following the same patterns, which were imposed on us by the English people. Even after so many years of independence, we are still not able to come out of....
