In search of Soma and Sanjeevani

    Plants have always played a significant role in Hindu mythology. They are believed to be sacred, sometimes worshipped as deities, and even given as offerings in rituals. Sanjeevani is considered to be one of the most mysterious and miraculous herbs in Indian mythology. The herb is supposed to have magical properties that can cure critical nervous system problems and has the potentiality for resurrecting life. However, the identity and existence of the plant is still a subject of controversy. This herb, endowed with superpowers, has been a topic of serious discussion for centuries.

    The herb is mentioned in the Indian epic Ramayana. In a fierce battle which takes place between Meghnad, Ravana’s son and Lakshmana, the former hurls a deadly and powerful weapon at Lakshmana.
