How Beatles quest in India changed America and the western culture

    The Beatles is a fab four, which every millennial has heard of, or is a fan of. The group, whose best-known line up comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr are the most influential band of all time.

    They were integral to the development of 1960’s counterculture and pop music’s recognition as an intrinsic art form. The band infused the skiffle, 1950’s rock and roll with the elements of classical music and traditional pop. The band pioneered and explored music styles from ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock.

    The Beatles revolutionised many aspects of the music industry and were often hailed as leaders of the era’s youth and socio-cultural movements. By 1968, despite, or maybe because of, their huge popularity and success, the Beatles found themselves spiritually exhausted.
