Suzanna Arundhati Roy is a woman with wild curls, a sparkling nose ring and an eye for small things. When she said, “And the air was full of thoughts and things to say; But at times like these, only the small things are ever said. Big things lurk unsaid inside,” we all felt it so profoundly that it got engraved in our hearts. By noticing the unnoticed and through her mesmerising words, her character came to life.

   She was awarded the prestigious British Award, Man Booker Prize in 1997 for her book, The God of Small Things. Taking her first breath in Shillong, Arundhati Roy was born to a Malayali mother Mary Roy and a Bengali father Rajib Roy on 24th November 1961. Unfortunate events lead to the divorce of her parents and she moved back to Kerala with her mother and brother at the age of two.
